Greg Storer

Greg Storer was born in 1956. A former linebacker for Ohio State, where he received his BFA in 1979, Storer is well-known for his large, vibrant sports paintings.

With these paintings, as well as his lauded “house” series, Storer challenges his viewers to look at the familiar in a new way. He is breaking boundaries not only for his endeavors to paint in a realistic manner, but also for the everyday subject-matter of his work. Says Storer of his art, “If I can’t do paintings that my mother or 95 percent of the people I know could appreciate, what’s the point?”

Greg holds strong the belief in first learning the fundamentals of art and then letting creativity take hold. For nearly 20 years, this belief has played a large role in Storer’s great success as a teacher.

Greg’s work has been exhibited and collected internationally and throughout the US.
