Isela Leal

Isela Leal was born in Mexico City, where she received a degree in Architecture from the Universidad Metropolitana and for 15 years worked as an architect. In 1994, Isela moved to Venezuela and there began exploring her artistic skills through studies at the Institute of Art Federico Brant and diverse workshops at Cristobal Rojas Art School and at The Museum of Contemporary Art.

Isela moved to Costa Rica in 2000 and continued improving and exploring her art. In 2003 she came to live in Cincinnati, bringing with her experience and a global perspective.

Isela is a great observer of the everyday. She imbues ordinary experiences with a magical quality, so that you’d love to leap into her work and live the fantasy for yourself.

Her work is enjoyed in collections throughout the US and internationally.
